Abstrak : Background. There are many mothers who do not understand and know about neonatal sepsis. Neonatal sepsis is a disease that occurs in neonatal tetanus is caused by bacteria and viruses for infants aged 0-28 days. Purpose of research. To know the factors related with maternal knowledge of neonatal sepsis in the region of Public Health Center Idanogawo, Idanogawo district and Nias regency. Design of research. Is analytic cross sectional. Population. Mothers who had baby 0-28 days. Sample. 62 persons with total sampling technique. Instrument. Used was a questionnare. Result of research. Finding of 62 respondents indicating that the majority of mothers are knowledge less as many 41 persons (66,1%) and a good knowledge of minority as many 10 persons (16,1%). Conclusion. After conducting research in that mothers knowledge of neonatal sepsis is decrease still. This influenced by age, education, employment, information resources and parity. Suggestion. Be expected mothers who decrease knowledge to improve knowledge more, actively to look for information about neonatal sepsis through health officers, print and electronic media.
