Abstrak : Background. Incidence of retained placenta in hospital Gunungsitoli from 136 mothers of normal birth, there were experiencing retained placenta incidence among experienced by primigravida mothers, multigravida dan more experienced by grandemultigravida mothers. The incidence of retained placenta is relatively high after known from medical records report of hospital Gunungsitoli in 2013 that cases of retained placenta were 62 cases, obtained an increase in the number of incidents compared to the previous year. The Purpose of this research is to know the relation between parity with incidence of retained placenta in public hospital Gunungsitoli. Research design descriptive correlation by using retrospective approach and processed statistically Chi Square test. Sample are mothers of normal birth in hospital of Gunungsitoli. Instrument which is used is questionnaire checklist. Result. Mothers who had retained placenta are 62 persons and who did not experience as 74 persons. Conclusion. There is a relation ship between parity with the incidence of retained placenta. Recommendation. Recommended to mothers who have a lot of parity in order to follow the family planning program to reduce the incidence of retained placenta.
