ROLE DURING THE MIDWIFE IN THE PROCESS OF INFECTION PREVENTION AID IN THE DELIVERY OF HEALTH STREET MORO’Ö, DISTRICT MORO’Ö KABUPATEN NIAS BARAT

Abstrak : Background Every midwife should know his role primarily as implementers, managers and educators in infection prevention efforts to reduce maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate. The purpose of this study to determine the role of the midwife as an executor, administrator, educator, in the prevention of infection during the process of delivery assistance. Design of this study used a descriptive approach to problem solving using cross tabulation (Cross Sectional Tabulation). The samples in this study were all active midwives, who are in the Work Area Ambulatory Health Center Moro’ö, Moro’ö District, West Nias In 2013, the sampling technique is the total sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire. The results of the research, found that of all midwives to play well (100%). Midwives as executor able to play well in the prevention of infection during the process of delivery assistance (64%), midwives as well the manager is able to play a role in the prevention of infection during the process of delivery assistance (56%) and midwives as educators able to play well in the prevention of infection during the process delivery assistance (52%). Expected for the clinic is expected to hold trainings for midwives to be able to act as executor, administrator, and educator in the prevention of infection during childbirth and for an inexperienced midwife needs to enhance its role as an executor, administrator, and educator either formally or informally.
